Surviving Social Situations: Helping Your Pre-Teen And Teenage Daughter Come Out Stronger

webinarLast night we had a wonderful class with Brochie Weinberg, MS. LPCC.
We learned so many great ways to communicate with our teens:

  • Validate feelings WHATEVER they may be
  • Use an emotional vocabulary as often as possible
  • Check your own emotional temperature
  • Show your daughter that you don’t judge your own emotions
  • Be honest when you are feeling intense

Another important point:

We want to teach our daughters the difference between passive, aggressive and assertive behavior

Brochie stressed that we need to teach teens resilience. Parents need to know that:

  • Feelings are like waves
  • We need to help teens tolerating discomfort
  • We want our teens to have meaningful endurance
  • We need to accept what cannot change

I loved Brochie’s simple way of helping teens take responsibility for their actions.

If you missed the class you can still sign up here and we will get you the recording as soon as it is available:
