Review: Disipline: Teaching Kids To Improve Their Own Behavior and Power Struggles For Toddlers

It has been a busy week for me. Last Monday morning I spoke at our Local JCC Family Place. We discussed how to avoid power struggles with toddlers. Parents were asked what their biggest power struggles with  their toddlers and they shared. We talked about getting our kids diapers changed, helping kids into their car seats, making sure we got our kids into their pajamas without a fight.

We  also had our 5th class in our Parenting Simply Foundations Webinar. The topic:

Disipline: Teaching Kids To Improve Their Own Behavior

This week we discussed:

1. The problems with punishment, why punishment does not work.

2. 7 skills to use instead of punishing your child

3. 5 steps to problem solving

Points To Ponder:

Problem solving with your children:

1. Increases their self esteem

2. Improves their emotional intelligence

3. Builds resilience

4. Fosters independent, creative thinking

5. Allows you to connect on a deep level with children

6. Generates good feelings between parents and their kids
