My favorite parenting books are my constant companions. My bookcases are overflowing. I have to write an article almost every day and I am teaching all the time. I turn to them for ideas and inspiration.

I was just reading over an excellent book, “Between Parent and Child” by Dr. Haim Ginott. There is so much valuable information packed between its covers. I have learned so much from his work and the work of his students, Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish.

Dr. Ginott talks give good advice to parents about how to handle the anger that comes along with parenting. In his book, Dr. Ginott says, “Anger should so come out, that it brings relief to the parent, some insight to the child and no harmful side effects to either of them.”

He gives 3 tips to help parents deal with anger:

1. Accept that our children can make us very angry.

2. We should understand that we are entitled to our anger without feeling ashamed.

3. We can express our angry feelings as long as we don’t attack our child’s personality and character.

We discuss all this and more in our “Simple Ways To Parent Without Anger” class. You can get lifetime access today and learn great ways to control your anger, and start parenting happily.
